FANNIE MAE FOUNDATION The Fannie Mae Foundation has ceased substantially all of its day-to-day operations. The Foundation's sole funder, Fannie Mae, announced in February 2007 that it is consolidating its philanthropic initiatives into the Office of Community and Charitable Giving. Stacey D. Stewart, who led the Foundation as president and CEO, joined the company as a senior vice president to head the new office. Over the remainder of 2007, many of the Foundation's signature initiatives will continue, including the Help the Homeless Program and annual Walkathon, the Alliance of High Performing Organizations, and many of the fellowship programs. Foundation Facts Since 1979, the Foundation's spending has been more than $1 billion to support programs and grants to increase the supply of affordable homes nationwide and to improve the quality of life in our hometown, Washington, D.C.
