Over the years, the Foundation has provided educational tools and training manuals for use by potential home buyers, current homeowners, and practitioners working in the affordable housing and community development field.

This how-to guide covers all of the basics you'll need to plan your own fair for potential home buyers, including identifying target audiences; recruiting an advisory team and partners; developing a budget; signing up exhibitors; promoting the event; and managing all of the logistical details before, after, and on the day of the fair. Building Native Communities: Financial Skills for Families

The Building Native Communities curriculum was developed specifically for American Indian families in order to bridge the gap in information available about personal finance and economics. Entitled Building Native Communities: Financial Skills for Families, the curriculum is a unique tool to help Native Americans build on their own knowledge and develop personal financial skills while embracing Native traditions and values, such as interconnection between generations, folklore wisdom, and historical experience. Growing Your Money: Personal Financial Tools

Lack of information about personal finance and credit is a serious issue for many people. The Fannie Mae Foundation collaborated with a specialist in financial education to write Growing Your Money: Personal Financial Tools. The curriculum provides up to 12 hours of training, and includes the following sessions: "Developing a Spending Plan," "Working with Checking and Savings Accounts," "Understanding Credit and Your Credit Reports," and "Getting a Loan." By understanding and using these skills, people can make informed financial decisions for themselves, their families, and their communities.
